We are now looking for a Senior Manager, Business Control, Biochemicals (m/f/d) to join our team. The position is located in Leuna, Germany; UPM locations in Finland can also be considered.

In this role, you are responsible for the business control operations and team for UPM Biochemicals, a greenfield business gearing for a start-up. You will provide future-oriented insight for decision making and act as a sparring partner to business management. You will add value by turning financial data, plans, and drivers into clear analyses, proposals, and focused actions. The position offers complex responsibilities in a business experiencing significant development.

You will be a member of the UPM Biochemicals management team and:

  • Contribute to business value creation through future-oriented finance insights to business steering, business development initiatives, and strategy work
  • Manage and develop finance and business processes, tools, and analytics in co-operation with various finance and business stakeholders
  • Initiate actions to optimize financial performance
  • Support target setting and follow-up
  • Have ownership of internal controls, risk management and compliance related tasks
  • Lead a team of business controllers

  • You see patterns where others see chaos, and you aim to influence with your vision
  • You build bridges connecting people, ideas, and opportunities, as well as inspire your team
  • You have high integrity and are self-driven
  • You have a relevant degree (e.g., finance or industrial management) and 5-7 years of impactful work experience in the field
  • You understand finance and business processes and command relevant tools (Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBi, SAP S/4, OneStream) with ease
  • You are fluent in English; German skills are considered an asset
