The Architecture and Powernet department is responsible for shaping and controlling the global development of Daimler Truck vehicles in order to ensure synergies and efficiencies of global solutions and at the same time enable the necessary freedom to meet regional customer needs.

Our team is driving forward the software strategy at Daimler Truck AG. From the vehicle to the back end, we are working on making Daimler Truck vehicle computers on wheels. We provide technical guidance for architect functions and functions in the Daimler Truck software platform.


These challenges are facing you:

  • Development of a technical strategy for partitioning software functions into the Daimler Truck software platform, taking into account design criteria such as timing, security and flexibility
  • Influence the entire software development organization to develop a software-centric mindset and technical solutions by developing detailed technical design criteria and working with in-vehicle software developers, cloud architects and EE architects
  • Lead process definition and optimization for efficient and transparent control of software development activities at Daimler Truck
  • Provide clear and concise guidance for software developers to align self-service development with architecture governance
  • Document software partitioning clearly and easily and simultaneously manage and document dependencies between components
  • Collaborate with third-party software companies, industry consortia, and open source software initiatives to select and integrate solutions that meet Daimler Truck's specific needs
  • Work internally to promote a software-oriented mindset at Daimler Truck by involving external groups and advocating for software-oriented solutions

Ideally, you will qualify for this job with:

  • Several years of experience in software system integration and testing
  • Several years of experience in software development and/or requirement development
  • Several years of professional experience of development of automotive features and/or functions
  • Experience with software architecture and working knowledge in real time (e.g. AUTOSAR) and POSIX software environments
  • Ability to develop technical solutions in line with company strategy
  • Experience in reporting to and influencing management decisions
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor junior team members
  • Experience in automotive development preferred
  • Kanban, scrum or scaled agile development preferred

The application phase runs for approx. 4 weeks, i.e. until the end of 07/2024. The selection interviews will then take place in 08 (month), so that a decision on the vacancy will be made by 09 (month). A recruitment can therefore take place at the earliest by 09/2024.
