The Hasso Plattner Institute (HPI) is Germany's university center of excellence for digital engineering (www.hpi.de). The joint digital engineering faculty of the University of Potsdam and HPI offers an engineering computer science program that is unique in Germany and particularly practice-oriented. HPI conducts world-renowned university research. The focus of HPI teaching and research is on the fundamentals and applications of large, highly complex and networked IT systems.

Talent Manager Industry Partnerships (m/f/d)

​The position is unlimited and Full-Time.


We want to support all undergraduate and graduate students as well as PhDs at HPI to identify their own unique interests and strengths, explore internship-, working student- and graduate job-opportunities to apply their scientific expertise in practice. We want to empower our students to pursue paths they personally find meaningful with individual career coaching and counseling.

Key job responsibilities
This role requires an individual who enjoys working at the interface of industry and academia, who moves fast and service-oriented to create great internship- and other career- opportunities for all students of HPI. Successful candidates are willing to initiate and push forward a process of extending the existing HPI Career Services with the Head of industry partnerships and the Head of Events, Alumni and Corporate Relations and other relevant stakeholders. The role also requires collaboration with all HPI teams who have external collaborations as well as senior-level leaders across HPI departments. We are looking for an individual who thrives on empowerment and accountability. This position is an exceptional opportunity for a creative, collaborative and highly motivated individual.


Basic Qualifications

  • Professional working experience in career counselling, marketing or recruiting
  • Fluent in German and English, both written and verbal
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal
  • Strong track record as guidance counselor, personnel placement agent or headhunter
  • Self-starter with ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment
  • Personal initiative, flexibility, intellectual curiosity, and ability to work across functions
  • Experience communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders at different levels

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in collaboration with external partners and other teams
  • Experience in key account management
  • Fluent in other major languages (e.g. Spanish, French)
  • Proven negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage own work with minimal oversight in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders and changing priorities
