4C (Common Code for the Coffee Community) is a sustainability certification scheme for the coffee industry. 4C certification focuses on good agricultural and management practices, including requirements on economic, social and environmental conditions for coffee production and processing in order to establish credible sustainable and transparent supply chains. Independent certification bodies verify compliance with the 4C requirements. 4C operates in 20 countries and is the largest certification system in the coffee sector. It is also a highly innovative standard working on a variety of crucial topics such as reduction and offsetting of carbon footprint, biodiversity improvement and empowering women in coffee.

- Business Development
- You will take the lead on the development and growth of 4C's network of partners and operative reach.
- You will be the first contact person for potential new partners who wish to learn about 4C and actively research and approach potential new partners
- Partnership/Account Management
- You will engage with existing partners on strengthening and expanding collaboration: Support with proposals for sustainability projects, consult on funding opportunities and exchange among different stakeholders within the 4C System
- You will represent 4C in associations and initiatives such as the Global Coffee Platform, the Swiss Sustainable Coffee Platform, the Sustainable Coffee Challenge and the German Coffee Association
- Event Management
- You will take lead of the organization of online and offline events
- You will oversee the promotion and preparation of the events in collaboration with the team
- Communications and Marketing
- You will oversee and support the marketing and communication activities of 4C, such as the management of the website, social media channels, marketing publications and other materials.
- You will oversee the use of the 4C seal by partners, consult on 4C's logo use policies and the 4C brand identity
- Master's degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, Social Sciences or related fields
- At least five years of professional experience
- At least three years experience in Partnerships/Account Management, External Communications or a similar role
- Knowledge of relevant topics for sustainability certification and key stakeholders in the coffee sector.
- Experience in certification/sustainability in the agricultural sector or in the coffee sector is of advantage
- Proactive and independent working style
- High proficiency in both English and German (at least B2); additional language skills in Spanish or Portuguese of advantage
- Proficient knowledge of the standard EDP tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Knowledge of Communications tools such as Canva and WordPress are an additional asset
- Excellent presentation and communication skills; Refined writing style.
- Team player with intercultural sensibility
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally
