At BMW Car IT, a wholly owned subsidiary of BMW AG in Ulm, we live and breathe software. We are a leading company in the field of embedded automotive systems, providing innovative solutions for infotainment systems. To complement our team of highly qualified developers, we are looking for a system integration lead.

What awaits you?

  • You actively drive the integration process for software components in our infotainment systems ensuring both: delivery in time and in quality.
  • You collaborate closely with developers, project managers, domain project leads and further stakeholders to deliver the overall infotainment software package(s) alligned to the project's software delivery plan.
  • You plan, organize and coordinate integration requests of various infotainment domains and thus orchestrate a team of integrators.
  • You collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware, software, testing, and quality assurance, to ensure successful software and system integration.
  • You actively manage your suppliers.
  • As part of our project team and with the big picture in mind, you closely interact and plan tasks with - and - for your suppliers.
  • Furthermore, you lead the software and system integration strategy - including the development of integration plans, schedules and resource allocation according to the project requirements and schedules.
  • You troubleshoot complex integration issues and provide technical guidance to resolve them.

What should you bring along?

  • University degree in Computer Science or a comparable course of study.
  • Several years of professional experience in embedded software integration in the automotive industry, preferably around infotainment systems.
  • Ability of breaking down complex problems. Systematic however pragmatic approach to problem solving.
  • Profound knowledge of software integration methods, tools, and processes, including software versioning, software releasing and continous integration.
  • Experience in leading integration teams, as well as excellent communication/teamwork skills and experience with embedded development tools and environments.
  • Strong technical background in software development, system architecture, and embedded systems.
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
  • Proven leadership skills and experience managing engineering teams.
  • Business-fluent English is required, German would be an advantage.
