Our client in the financial services sector is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join their dynamic Finance & Accounting team within an company environment of growth and development.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and be at the forefront of driving financial excellence and strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring a robust background in accounting, with experience in a Big 4 firm and expertise in financial modelling and analysis.

As an Associate in Financial Controlling & Planning (m/f/d), you will play a pivotal role within our client's dynamic Finance & Accounting team.

  • Prepare and deliver monthly financial reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Maintain and enhance complex Excel models for business planning and forecasting, including integration of M&A targets / acquisitions
  • Prepare in-depth analysis such as Trial balance analysis, revenue / EBITDA bridges
  • Lead review of budget vs actual numbers and prepare deviation analysis
  • Conduct detailed ad hoc financial analysis to support business decisions
  • Identify process improvements and strive for excellence in implementing state-of-the-art solutions
  • Oversee special and strategic group projects that impact overall group accounting
  • Communicate financial results and insights effectively in PowerPoint presentations to internal and external stakeholders
  • Work directly with the Group Director of Finance and CFO on confidential and high-impact projects
  • Gain exposure to executive-level decision-making and contribute to the strategic direction of the company


To be considered for the role of Associate Financial Controlling & Planning (m/f/d) in the private equity and lending industry, the following qualifications are required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, with a focus on controlling or accounting. Additional certification as an accountant is a plus
  • 2-5 years of professional experience, ideally in a (Big 4) accounting firm, potentially within Deal /Transaction services or Financial Audit
  • Proven expertise in building financial models from scratch and performing detailed financial analyses
  • Very strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and thoroughness
  • Robust communication skills, with experience communicating complex financial information to external stakeholders in written format
  • Professional experience in accounting, preferably in an international company, demonstrating a solid understanding of global accounting standards
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with cross-functional teams, displaying strong interpersonal skills and stakeholder management capabilities
