We're looking for the right person to join our EMEA tax team working closely with the German finance, someone who's ready to help us deliver on our commitments today and support the Otis tax goals and participate to global processes to sustain flexibility as the business needs change.


We are looking for a Tax Manager (m/w/d)

Location: HQ Berlin / Hybrid

Essential Responsibilities

  • Preparation and filing of all tax returns for German group companies (CIT, TT, VAT, WHT, property tax, Real estate transfer tax etc.)
  • Ensure timely tax payments
  • Timely organize WHT exemption certificates for cross-border royalty and dividend payments
  • Organize and share with relevant stakeholders residency and taxpayer certificates as well as WHT exemption certificates for construction business
  • Drive discussions with local tax authorities including tax audits, appeals and tax litigation
  • Accompany local M&A transactions from a local tax perspective
  • Support local business regarding local tax matters (e.g. VAT, R&D incentives, property tax, construction withholding tax)
  • Share relevant data with internal stakeholders (e.g. TP team, Legal, Controller, FP&A team)
  • Establish and supervise a local tax compliance management system

Education / Certifications

  • Certified German tax advisor

Basic Qualifications

  • At least 4-5 of professional experience in
    • Preparation of income tax and VAT returns including tax groups and partnerships
    • Management of tax audits and litigations
  • Experience with finance ERP environments
  • Project management skills, including the ability to balance multiple tasks and work both autonomously and in a team
  • Willingness to take on new duties and expand scope of responsibility over time
  • Strong communication skills with the demonstrated ability to interact with all levels of Controller's Dept. and other staff and management
  • At least C1 level in English
