In order to further strengthen our department „Products & Solutions“ within our Business Unit Traffic at our head­quarters in Wiesbaden we are looking for a

Group Lead* Product & Platform Management

Product & Platform Management is in charge for managing all HW products and SW platforms which are used as core building blocks for generic as well as customer-specific E2E solutions offered by VITRONIC and/or sold stand-alone as “open market products” directly to end customers or via channel partners.

Main responsibilities of Product & Platform Management are the definition and the management of generic HW products and SW platforms with a high focus on reusability and synergies. Each HW product and SW platform is being managed over the entire life cycle starting from the early product / platform idea to product / platform end of life by a Product Manager using standard product management process methodology.

Product & Platform Management is striving for an innovative, customer-oriented and competitive product & platform portfolio.


  • Mission: Provide high performance system components ideally suited and optimized for VITRONIC systems supporting VITRONIC's solution business and drive product business by providing competitive open market products sellable directly to end customers or via channel partners
  • Definition of the overall portfolio strategy (focus HW products & SW platforms) in line with the BU Traffic strategy
  • Define strategic direction for the group and group specific objectives
  • Definition and management of all BU Traffic's HW products & SW platforms during their entire life cycle: market analysis & product envisioning, product strategy & business planning, product specification and development support, product services specification, product marketing, sales enabling and support, product retirement
  • Define and permanently optimize the organizational framework for the group
  • Incorporate company policies, practices and procedures in operations of the group
  • Managing the operational activities of the group
  • Disciplinary management of group members

  • You ideally combine a technical and economic background (e. g. university or higher technical college degree in engineering with business studies, technical degree with business experience)
  • You have already been able to demonstrate first leadership skills
  • You have acquired sound professional experience in product management (market analysis, business planning, requirement management etc.) ideally related to software products
  • You have a general understandig of software engineering, state-of-the-art software architectures, methodologies and tools
  • Ideally, you bring along expert knowledge in the Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) field
  • Your strategic thinking, analytical and conceptual skills are well developed
  • A very good command of English is complementing your profile
